  • The Sugar Act in 1764 was an act in which parliament taxed sugar that was imported into the colonies. Boston businesses start boycotting British luxury goods.
  • Why is no one buying my sugar?
  • The Stamp Act in 1765 was the first direct tax on the American colonies, it taxes legal papers, magazines, newspapers, and other documents. The revenue does not go to colonial legislatures but to Britain.
