Hey Joe! Want to know what I have learned in science today? Today we learned about photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
Sure! But, What is photosynthesis and cellular respiration?
well Joe, photosynthesis is a process of cells of a plant, algae and some bacteria that coverts energy from the sun into chemical energy that is stored in the energy rich-compounds. Photosynthesis also produces glucose. Carbon dioxide, light energy and water are used to process this. Glucose and oxygen are produced during this process. Photosynthesis is important because it produces food for plants and produces oxygen for all living things to survive.
Cellular respiration is it breaks down glucose and other rich energy compounds to release their stored energy. It changes into different forms like kinetic energy with is also called motion or heat energy. Glucose and oxygen is used, carbon dioxide gas is created and released, water vapor is produced. Cellular respiration is important because the plants need card dioxide to form photosynthesis and it releases energy that living things all need to survive. Nearly all living things need cellular respiration.
Wow! that is really cool. Now I know what the difference is between photosynthesis and cellular respiration and why they are important. Thanks!
