The scene starts off at Bilbo's house. Gandalf and the dwarfs come to his house uninvited, going eating all his food and drinking all this drinks for the "meeting". They inform Bilbo about the adventure and Bilbo refuses because he is not adventurous or brave. This scene is important because its the beginning of a long journey.
When Bilbo refuses Gandalf and the dwarfs offer they start to leave the next morning on ponies. Bilbo wakes up thinking it was a dream but then he realizes it was real. He sat and thought about the offer, debating if he was going to go or not. Then he realizes that he did so he runs to them and says that he accepts their offer. This scene is important because there was no turning back for the little hobbit.
After a long day of traveling the dwarfs, Bilbo, and Gandalf find somewhere to camp for the night. Later one of the dwarfs spot fire in the distance. Bilbo was nominated to go check it out. When Bilbo goes he sees trolls, he tries to free the horses then he gets caught. The trolls then try to eat Bilbo and the dwarfs until Gandalf saves the day. By shinning sunlight on the trolls
Bilbo then falls into this cave and is really confused on how to get out. So then he runs into another person/thing and his name is Golum. The person ends up dropping a ring on the floor which Bilbo sees and the picks it up and takes it. Later Golums sees Bilbo and challenges him to a riddle contest. If Bilbo wins he gets to leave if Golum wins he gets to eat Bilbo. But in the end Bilbo wins.
Spiders end up becoming a problem for Bilbo. He soon realizes he has to face them. He became really brave and heroic when he fights the spiders.
Bilbo reaches the end of his journy a changed hobbit for the better. After the dragon is slayed and amount of treasure is split up Bilbo goes home to write a book about the adventure he had. Even though he did have to buy all his stuff back from when the other hobbits sold it.
