During the year 1348 a terrible disease called The Black Death came to Europe from China.
The Black Death germs came to Europe on fleas. Who lived on rats
When the rats died, the fleas looked for a new home - a person!! Medieval people didn't wash very often so they very dirty and tended to have fleas!! If an infected rat bit you, you would get the Black Death.
You would feel hot and dizzy. You would start spitting blood. Black spots would appear all over your body caused by bleeding underneath the skin.
You would shake all over... If one of the your BOILS burst and leaked pus, then you might live. If not, you would suffer a terrible death!
Millions of people died in England. Villages and towns were deserted and houses were full of dead Black Death victims.
