  • Mr. White and Herbert play chess while waiting for their guest.
  • Climax
  • "Two hundred pounds"
  • Major Morris arrives and they argue about the monkey's paw.
  • Falling Action
  • Mr. White uses the monkey's paw to wish for two hundred pounds after major Morris gives it to him.
  • Resolution
  • A man comes and tells the White family their son is dead, and in return they get two hundred pounds.
  • Mrs. White wishes for her son to be alive, but Mr. Whitemwishes him away. Since Mr. white wished his son away, he has become sick. There is no cure, so Mr. White will die a slow and painful death.
  • Soon Mr. White dies, and his wife afterwards wishing he listen to Major Morris.
