  • France goverment was broke 1789
  • National assembly formed 1789
  •  Oath of the tennis court  1789
  • France waste more money than they collect on taxes. So the third estate was paying for the taxes none of the problems were being fixed.
  • Storming of the Bastil July 14 1789
  • The third estate broke of from the other estates and called themselves the National Assembly
  • Decalration of rights august 1789
  • The third estate met at an indoor tennis court, and each swore to promise to write a constitution for france. 
  • Nobles ask for help late summer 1789
  • King Louis called 18000 soldiers to Versailles. People started to arm themselves because they were afraid of them. On July 14 one group of people headed to the Bastil and asked for weapons. Their was confusion and the soldiers thought they  were looking for a fight.
  • This document made by the National Assembly declared that all people had the rights of freedom and equality.
  • The nobles hated loosing their privileges so they asked for help from neighboring countries
