This is Nya. Nya is a girl who lives in South Sudan. She walks 8 hours a day to get water to help her family. Nya doesn't get to go to school because she is a girl.
*What are they talking about and what are they doing!*
Yes, that would be amazing! So exited we are doing this!
Nya has a sister. Her name is Akeer. Nya and her mother now find out that Akeer is sick. They also found out that she is sick because of the muddy water Nya gets from the river everyday. Nya is very worried because that river is their nearest water source.
We did well. I'm Very proud!
Nya goes outside. She sees two men by two trees. She couldn't hear much of what they said but she heard something about water. She thinks to herself "Water? Water? There is no water there! I've been here all my life and I know there is no water there at all!".
Now that we have cleared the land, we can start now!
They start to clear the land to make way for something new. Nya is still clueless about what is going on. She wants to ask the men, but she thinks they are too but they are too busy. Nya is anticipating when they are done with their project.
Now, the men have started drilling. Nya new seen a drill in her entire life. She calls it a red giraffe. Well, a red giraffe that makes a buzzing sound. Nya hates the noise, and she still is wondering what they are making!
Now Nya sees what they are doing! It is some type of hydrant that shoots out water! Nya is very shocked to see this. But she is still concerned because the water is muddy!
