Acid Rain sucks, it poisons plants, corrodes limestone constructions, and damages the ecosystem of marine life.
But how and why does this happen? Well, Acid rain is caused by OUR use of fossil fuels.
Nitrogen Oxide is the worst of the acids that affect the rain. Nitrogen Oxide form in the combustion of car engines, goes out of the exhaust and into the air, where it dissolves into the clouds, and lowers the pH from 6 to as low as 3, making it horribly acidic.
CO2 + H2O → H2CO3 NO3+H2O→H2NO3 SO4+H2O→H2SO4
