  • It all began in Thebes during the times of ancient Greece. The Queen of Thebes was pregnant.
  • Climax
  • A man named The Prophecy told the KIng of Thebes that his future son will be the one that will end the king's life. 
  • Falling Action
  • King commanded a servant to throw away the kid.However, the baby managed to survive and was raised somewhere else. Oepidus was later told the same fate that his biological father was told. To avoid fate he left his home and ventured somewhere else.
  • Resolution
  • After a couple of years marrying the Queen of Thebes, Oepidus came to the conclusion that his wife is his biological mother. As a result, Oepidus gauged his eyes realizing that the prophecy is true.
  • In spite of knowing that she married the killer of her previous husband and that its her son, she hung herself in her house. Despite Oedipus being blind, he brought a couple of his children with him as he banished himself from Thebes into the distance.
  • As blind Oedipus wandered with his children, some being killed in disasters throughout the process, he was struct by lightning that ended his life. From this one can assume that fate cannot be avoided..
