  • The Liberal party under king did not continue under legitimate power. So the Conservatives should've formed a government under Arthur Meighen but the Progressive party offered the Liberals support.
  • The Progressives removed their support. King then asks Byng the govern general for a new election but Byng declines. He declined because the Conservatives had more seats and he wanted to give Arthur a chance at government.
  • The government later fall short under Arthur's rule so they call for a new election. King who was supporting Canada's autonomy against the British won the majority government. king became the head of the government and nation.
