Storyboard Text

  • “—somebody knew you were comin‘ back for ’em.”
  • Jem tells Scout that he found his pants sewn and folded over the fence.
  • "They’d been sewed up. Not like a lady sewed ‘em, like somethin’ I’d try to do. All crooked. It’s almost like”
  • “Don’t take it, Jem,”. “This is somebody’s hidin‘ place.”
  • Jem and Scout find a ball of twine and wait a few days to see who's it was. The next day, no one had taken it so Jem and Scout claimed it.
  • Listen, let’s leave it and wait a couple of days. If it ain’t gone then, we’ll take it, okay?”
  • I don't like school. Miss Caroline doesn't let me do anything I like.
  • Jem and Scout are returning home from school while Scout complains about her teacher.
  • "...The older [you] get, the better school will be."
  • ¨I pulled out two small images carved in soap. One was the figure of a boy, the other wore a crude dress.¨
  • Scout and Jem find soap carved figures and find out it is them. They try to investigate who made them, but no answers are found. Jem thinks Boo Radley made them.
  • . “These are good...I’ve never seen any these good.¨
  • Look at that, there is so much stuff there.
  • Over a couple of weeks, Jem and Scout found a pack of gum, spelling bee medal, and a pocket watch with a knife attached to it.
  • Wow! Look at that. I am taking the pocket watch with the knife.
  • One day, the children decided to leave a letter to the anonymous giver. When they reached, the tree was being filled with cement by Mr. Radley. When the children asked why he was putting cement in it, he told them it was to save the tree from dying.
  • "Yes, I filled it up...Tree’s dying. You plug ‘em with cement when they’re sick."
  • "I saw him go stark white...Don’t you cry, now, Scout… don’t cry now, don’t you worry"
