  • In this scene Oedipus is showing his short-temperedness when he does not want to listen to Teiresias' knowledge of his past, so Oedipus his him thrown from the castle.
  • ANAGNORISIS The moment when the hero makes a critical discovery
  • In this scene Oedipus is speaking with the chorus. He thinks Jacosta has gone because she is ashamed that he is not really noble, but that accounts himself as an account of good fortune and that he should not be dishonered.
  • NEMESIS A fate that cannot be avoided

  • In this scene Oedipus is being exiled from Thebes because he now knows his true identity and that Creon, the messengers, and the Herdsman were all right.

  • I personally felt pity for Oedipus when he was asking Creon to watch over his daughters for him and to make sure that wed and find husbands.
