Jerry's Chronicle How all mice became smaller over time (A story TOLD by Jerry)
"At a time of history, there were two types of mice. One type was small like me and the other was large in size. As you might know, mice are a cat's common prey."
"It's easier for the cats to catch prey which were big (striking to them), fat, and slow in escaping. As a result, the large mice were caught and soon got endangered.
He-he! You can't catch me since I'm a small and fast mouse!
With most of the large mice eaten, there were no more female large mice to reproduce more of its kind which finally them led to first endangerment and then extinction.
On the other hand, with no more large mice, small mice had an abundant food source to eat from. This let them reproduce more of their kind for generations. Moreover, the cats weren't able to eat the small mice their quickness and cleverness.
Now, ALL mice that survive are tiny since they were the fittest individuals that were best adapted to their environment.
Ahh, I'm stuck! It's so hard to eat these tiny little mice in their small home...
