To start his journey to priesthood, John sights three deer which he used to follows toward the forbidden Land of the Gods. Regardless of the land being forbidden, it is necessary. So he sets off east.
John makes his way to the river that separates the Land of the Land of the Gods. Before he enters he predicts his own death. He crosses the river and starts his journey.
In the Land of the Gods, he finds much trouble. He is chased by a pack of dogs and finds himself in a building where he finds evidence of gods, such as magic. As he was exploring in the building he falls asleep due to the exhaustion of his journey.
While he was asleep, he had a vision. He dreamed of gods up in the sky fighting and destroying everything around them. He had never dreamed of such weapons and fighting.
After he wakes up he walks into another room where he finds a god sitting in a chair. He finds that the god is not alive but also that he is basically man. He realizes that the gods are all really men.
John leaves the forbidden lands and makes it back home. When he returns he tells his father the things he learned on his journey. He tells his father about how the lands are really safe for people. His father tells him that there will be more trips.
