After Daniel spots Natasha on the street, he decides to follow her into a record shop. Natasha stands in awe as her menacing ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend steal records. A voice behind Natasha questions if anyone is going to stop the couple, and the voice happens to belong to Daniel. Daniel and Natasha converse regarding the thieving couple and Natasha's relation to them.
The couple begins to rejoice in their act of malice and thus, begin to kiss one another passionately. Natasha and Daniel, both disgusted at the sight of this, decide to confront Rob and his girlfriend. Daniel scolds the couple for their wrongdoings given that they are stealing from an independent record store meaning that it is a family-owned business.
The owner of the record store hears the commotion coming from the back of the store, and he threatens to call the cops. Rob hears this and immediately runs out of the store, leaving his current girlfriend. In anguish, Rob's girlfriend begins to cry calling after Rob as she runs out looking for where he went. Daniel and Natasha laugh at the sight of this and introduce themselves formally.
In nervousness to be in the presence of a beautiful woman, Daniel awkwardly shakes Natasha's hand. Daniel instantly regrets his decision to do this as the two part ways. Daniel and Natasha happen to be walking in the same direction when a car almost runs over Natasha. Fortunately, Daniel saves Natasha just before the car grazes her.
Natasha stares at her broke headphones on the floor in sadness. She owned those bright pink headphones since before she migrated to the United States, so their loss impacted her greatly. Daniel, in response to her sadness, almost begins to cry as well; however, he doesn't and instead tries to run after the guy who almost ran Natasha over.
Daniel then goes to comfort Natasha. Daniel asks Natasha for her name, but she declines in telling him and continues to call him "Red Tie." Daniel insists on knowing her name until she finally tells him. Daniel then offers to take her to get coffee with him as it is the least she can do for his actions in saving her life. Natasha accepts, and the two discuss their lives and their beliefs.
