Her son, Michael has a disability called Cystic fibrosis. He has a difficult time breathing most of the time and he can't handle it like that. Sheila gets stressed about her son's disability.
Sheila has an extended family in her household. Her mother, sister and niece also stay with her.
Sheila and her family grew up being Muslims. Muslims don't celebrate Christmas instead they celebrate Ramadan. They wear different clothing than other people. They have to wear al amira on their head. They also have to keep their arms and legs covered whenever they leave the house.
Trent and Jade are getting a divorce. Divorce could be a difficult situation to handle. It can be a good thing and also a bad thing. It could be a good thing for the couple that is getting the divorce. However, it could be devastating for their child. The child may think that it is their fault.
When they tell their daughter, Jayla about the divorce she is devastated. She starts crying hysterically and think that it is her fault. Jayla doesn't want her family to fall apart. Her mom and dad feel bad about hurting their her. One of the parents will move out and Jayla would have to decide who she wants to stay with.
