Jerome is a quiet child not very outspoken but smart. he is the main character of the story and the whole plot basically revolves around him growing up without his father. It shows him losing his father at 8 then growing up.
1.)a pig fell from the 5th story apartment killing jerome's father 2.) jerome dreads his future wife's reaction to the story of how his father died
its the mid 1900s around 1950s, 1960s. London, England in the 30s is when the story starts, in a boarding school when the accident happened
the main conflict of the story is jerome dealing with his father's death. The ever growing closeness he feels for his dead father as his wedding day comes closer. The slight fear of laughter from his soon to be wife.
after revealing the "shocking accident" she didnt laugh at jerome but consoled him about his father. they went on to have a quiet wedding in a court house nothing fancy. The book leaves it there with no further insight on the couple.
The theme is most likely cooping with loss. and honestly i haven't had a thing like this happen so it has no real impact to me its just a story. But it was still good in any other way
