Storyboard Text

  • The life of Winston Smith in the book 1984 written by George Orwell. 
  • The people living here are very restricted to what they can and cannot do and are even restricted on what they can think. They only have knowledge about certain things and are made very aware of the consequences which will take place if they do not follow these rules
  • This is Winston, he lives in a world where you are being constantly being watched and monitored by Big Brother. 
  • BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!
  • Posters like this are all around Oceania which is where Winston lives. These posters reminding  you of the reality and raise fear withing the citizens.
  •  Almost everywhere including Winston's apartment has this thing called a telescreen. It is always watching you and can always see or hear you when you are withing its field of view. 
  • Freedom is very limited here and almost all citizens live in fear of doing something wrong or showing too much emotion. Also the screen can never be shut off it is just dimmed at night.  
  • NO CONNECTION OR INTERNET ACCESS. NO TALKING OR COMMUNICATING WITH THE OUTSIDE COUNTRIES
  • NORTH KOREAN NEWS ONLY 
  • PHONES WERE BANNED FROM 2004-2008!
  • ALL FOREIGN ACTIVITIES ARE PROHIBITED
