Unit 8 Patriot Plus- Jazira
This storyboard does not have a description.
The cattle industry busted during the Civil War when most people left home to fight.
Cattle multiplied and many Texans could not afford to ship beef but many people rushed to Texas for cattle causing a boom in the industry.
Railroads soon expanded and allowed beef to be shipped to markets in the north and east.
Cattle drives were arranged by cattle drivers to transport their cattle to stockyards and cow towns.
The success of the ranching industry was also the cause of its decline. The open range became crowded and soon it was too difficult to keep track of everyone's herds.
Barbed wire spread across Texas and led to the closing of the range along with the invention of the windmill.
