Storyboard Text

  • The narrator is introduced. He wishes to prove his sanity to the readers despite killing a man.
  • Exposition
  • The narrator lives in the same home as an old man with a disturbing eye. He even goes as far as calling it an eye of a vulture.
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • The narrator spends the next eight days plotting to kill the old man. Each night he enters his room only to careful shine a dim ray of light from his lantern upon his eye.
  • Finally, the narrator makes a sound cause the old man to wake up. Afraid the neighbors will hear the old mans heartbeat, he kills the old man.
  • Climax
  • Summoned by a neighbor, the police arrive. They ask to see the buliding and since the narrator was so sure he wouldnt get caught he invided them throughout the whole house.
  • Falling Action
  • The story ends when the narrator believes he hears a ticking noise. He believes it's the old man's heart. This leading up to his guilt taking over until he just can't bear it so he confesses.
  • Resolution
  • Tic, Tic Tic, Tic...
