Storyboard Text

  •  A figurehead or concept is worshipped by the citizens of the society.
  • Elector Primo
  •  Citizens live in a dehumanized state.
  •  Citizens conform to uniform expectations. Individuality and dissent are bad.
  • Wanted by the Republic: File #: 462178-3233 "Day"
  • "He looks different in person than he does in his portraits or on the city's JumboTrons. (pg. 179)" In this novel, one dystopian characteristic we see is the main figurehead throughout the different sector, rich or poor the all have the same picture of the person.
  • "You get a perfect score - Probably lots of money and power. You fail - You get sent away to the Republic's labor camps and your family will never see you again. (pg. 7)" In this society they only want the kids that will help the government get stronger, the weak get killed off. The left side is what a kid with a good or perfect score would live, the right side is where a kid that failed* or got a low score would live. The dehumanization is that the government treats the kids that aren't perfect like they are animals and the ones that get a good score like they are way more special.
  • "They don't seem to now mych of anything about me. That's why they hate me, why I'm not the most dangerous criminal in the country, but the most wanted. I make them look bad. (pg. 2)" The Republic doesn't know the reason behind Day's reasons for stealing things. All they know is that his isn't be civil like any other person in the city and that concerns them. He is showing his individuality.
