• Hello, Welcome 8th grade of 2019, I am your math teacher Ms.Onally , Today we are going to be learning about base, exponents, rational numbers, whole numbers, and terminating decimals
• Well, Rational Number are numbers that can be written as a ratio.
• such as a fraction or a decimal
• Hey Teach, what are rational numbers anyway?
• Correct students, as it is shown on the board , 6 is a Rational Number because it can be written as 6/1 or 6.0
• 6=6/1=6.0  rational Rational Number- any number that can be written as a ratio
• a quantity representing the power to which a given number or expression is to be raised, usually expressed as a raised symbol beside the number or expression for example  3 in 2 is 23
• when solving an exponent there always have to be a base, because that is the only way you can solve it, so 3 in 2  is 2 to the power of 3 which is 2x2x2 which then equals 8.
• What are exponents? It sounds very complicated
• Ring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Correct students, great job!!
• Well I guess it's time to go, I must have missed calculated the time we had today, we will have to continue tomorrow, until then , stay smart and welcome to 8th grade!!!
