This picture is showing the French and Indian War. This was fought from 1754-1763. This was a battle between the British and French. This was a battle for land and to see who would rule over North America. The people in the red coats are Loyalists and the people in the blue coats are Patriots. During the French and Indian war there was something called "Writs of Assistance" which was used to enforce the possesion of lands.

In 1963, after the French and Indian War, the British made a proclamation with the Indians mainly intended to conciliate the Indians by checking the encroachment of settlers on their land.
The next event was the Stamp Act. This was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. The Stamp Act was when new tax was put on the American colonists where they had to put a stamp on every piece of paper or document they made/bought. The colonists wanted to boycott all British goods after this
The next event was the Quartering Acts. The year was 1765 when these laws were passed. The Quartering Act required the colonies to house British soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies.
On March 5, 1770 there was an event called the Boston Massacre. This event was a street fight between the loyalists and the patriots. During this event there were patriots throwing rocks at the loyalists and all of a sudden, the loyalists started killing the patriots with their guns! This caused a huge argument.
The last event was the Boston Tea Party. This event happened because of the Tea act. The king put taxes on the colonists for their tea and the colonists retaliated with the Boston Tea Party. This even was organized by a secret group called the Sons of Liberty. one of the main leaders was Samuel Adams.
