  • The Meeting of the Estates General
  • We, men, need more rights in power.
  • The Tennis Court Oath
  • Until the Consitution is formed, this meets shall not split.
  • The Storming of the Bastilles
  • The first meeting of the Estates General was called in 1614. Then in 1789, King Louis XVI called the meeting for the crises of money.  They all step towards democracy.
  • The Marching of Versailles
  • The Tennis Court Oath was started on June 20th, 1789 when the members of the French Estates General for the Third Estate was locked out of the meeting room. They decided to meet at the tennis courts and that is why it is called the Tennis Court Oath.
  • The Reign of Terror
  • A rumor was spread that that weapons were hidden away at the Bastille so an angry mob had stormed it. They had also freed prisoners. On July 14th, 1789 is when they had stormed it. July 14th is their independence day.
  • The Rising of Napoleon
  • About 6 thousand women marched from Paris to Versailles to demand King Louis XVI that they wanted to purchase bread for their families and demanded that he return to his palace. This occurred on October 5th, 1789.
  • The Reign of Terror was a dark and violent period of time during the French Revolution. It lasted from 1793-1794. Anyone who was suspected of not being loyal to the revolution was killed. Enemies of Robespierre, the leader of the Reign of Terror, overthrew and executed him.
  • Napoleon was a military success before he was chosen by the people to become the emperor of France. During the French Revolution, he led the victory to France. He conquered many countries; he also created the Code Napoleon. His coronation happened in 1804.
