  • The unemployed men would go to relief camps to make 20 cents a day while working a 44 hour week.
  • relief camps were designed to provide employment, shelter and medical care for homeless and single unemployed men, and to prevent them from congregating or organizing in urban centres.
  • They would move bushes, build roads, plant trees and construct public buildings.
  • They would get breaks and be provided with food that was not prepared the best ways.
