  • Later on in the book someone tells Arnold that he needs to get out of the reservation because he'll die, no one does anything with themselves. Now he has to make the decision of leaving the rez to go to a rich white school or stay with his befriend Rowdy.
  • In the story The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, the main character, Arnold (aka Junior) lives on his indian reservation just miles away from rich towns and white folks.

  • When he was born, he wasn't made the perfect little child, there was too much fluid in his brain, his eyes were lopsided, and he talked with a lisp.

  • Arnold gets bullied not by only his classmates, but other adults too, to the point where he's actually getting beat up by the adults.

  • Later on in the book someone tells Arnold that he needs to get out of the reservation because he'll die, no one does anything with themselves. Now he has to make the decision of leaving the rez to go to a rich white school or stay with his befriend Rowdy.
  • Arnold's decision was to go to Reardan (rich white school). The next day at school he was going to tell Rowdy, you know it's his best friend he would respect his choice. Instead he gets a face full of fist. Word goes around, and now he's getting bullied more than ever, so he leaves.......
