Michelangelo - A Humanist
Display and Explanation
"My stomach is thrust toward my chin, My bread curls up toward the sky,My head leans right over onto my back, The brush endlessly dripping onto my back."
Michelangelo was a many-sided genius like Leonardo da Vinci. He was a sculptor, engineer, painter, architect, and also a poet. Was born in March 6,1475. He lived in Italy during the Italian Renaissance.
I put my heart into the mural in the Sistine Chapel for 4 years. I created the mural so people who didn't understand or know how to read the bible could have a visual of what the bible is saying. But my dome for the Sistine Chapel also served as a model for many structures created after my death like the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C.
I believe that a humanist is someone who inspires others while there alive or even after their dead to make and create things to make the world better. Michelangelo was a humanist because he created art works to give people an understanding of things people might not understand. He also created structures that would later on help build models for later amazing structures.
