Storyboard Text

  • Odysseus and his man reach the land of the Cyclopes
  •  Odysseus encounters the island with some of his men to explore it
  •  Odysseus and his men encounter the cyclops
  • “In the next land we found were Cyclopes, giants, louts without a law to bless them” .(109-110).
  • Cyclops eats one of Odysseus’s men
  • “I told the crew to stand by and keep watch over the ship: as for myself and I took my twelve best fighters and went ahead… We climbed, then, briskly to the cave.” (134-157).
  • Odysseus and his men blind the cyclops
  • “When he came he had a load of dry boughs on his shoulder to stoke his fire at supertune...When all these chores were done, he poked the fire, heaping on brushwood. In the glare he saw us”(176-196).
  • Odysseus and his men leave the island on their boat
  •  "But in one stride he clutched at my companions and caught two in his hands like squirming puppies to beat their brains out… then he dismembered them and made his meal, gaping and crunching like a mountain lion” (232-237).
