To the left are the men and to the right are the women. They are at the Worlds Anti-Slavery Convention in London. The women were not allowed to participate at the event and they had to sit behind a curtain and have to stay out of site of the men.
There were more than 12,000 women who attended this school between 1821-1872. The first college for women is called the Willard's Troy Female Seminary.

Here there are men at a voting booth voting. The men's wives are standing behind them because women are not allowed to vote. This was until the 1900's then women were able to vote.
