Storyboard Text

  • Thank you, brother! I love soccer!
  • Woah! Good job, Sonia! You beat us again!
  • Only three people signed up this year...I have to try out for the boys' team
  • Hi! I'm Sonia and I'd love to try out for the boys' soccer team. I'm really good!
  • Hah! You? You're pathetic. Go join the cheerleading squad
  • When Sonia was five, she loved to play soccer. Her older brothers and their friends would treat her like one of them. Sonia was also amazing at soccer.
  • You better not be talking trash about me again or you'll REGRET gossiping about me
  • You're right. I shouldn't have fought with them. I'll apologize to them when I get back to school from suspension. Thank you, Kristy
  • Now, she is in junior high and she can't wait to try out for the girls' soccer team. However, only three people signed up for it so it was canceled. She was heartbroken and had no choice but to join the boys' soccer team.
  • I know it's horrible you're being picked on, but remember you are strong. They just don't know you well yet. You could show them you're good at soccer. Try not to get into any more fights. Don't give up!
  • She couldn't believe that they made fun of her, telling her to go to the cheerleading squad.
  • You know what, you're right. We'll apologize to her when she gets back. I never thought she was irritated and sad
  • You know that bullying others is bad, right? Why do you do it to Sonia? You must have your reasons, but you don't know her well yet. She has been playing soccer since she was 5 and is great at it! She can be kind. She's just sick and tired of being picked on
  • Even the girls made fun of her! One day, she lost her temper and fought with the girls. She was suspended and warned if it would happen again, she'd be permanently expelled.
  • Soon, a girl named Kristy came to Sonia and encouraged her to keep trying. She also said not to get into any more fights. Sonia knew Kristy was right and decided to follow her advice.
  •  At school, Kristy talked with those who bullied Sonia, explaining how Sonia felt and how good she was in soccer. The bullies understood and decided to talk to Sonia when she came back from suspension.
