Passing thought the St-Lawrence River
They traded with the First Nations people, exporting their trades back to their home country
The trades were such a success, french and english settlers began creating colonies and trading posts
Many First Nations would trade with the Europeans as they benefited from it

They would trade their trades to more First Nations people who where further north, they acted as the middle men
