It is 12 o'clock when Cathy and her mom start to have a talk. Cathy wants to go out driving with her friends but her mom is worried because Cathy is very careless and bereft of responsibility. She has almost been in multiple accidents, but she hasn't learned her lesson. After Cathy's persistence her mom gave in.
Cathy is on her way to pick up her friend so they can go out. As she is driving down the street she hears an alert on her phone. Cathy loves her phone, she doesn't go anywhere without it. She is trying to restrain herself from going on it because she knows she needs to be responsible. Then she thinks about what people are saying about her and it makes it harder to not look.
5 minutes later and Cathy's phone goes off again. The more that her phone goes off the harder it is for her to stop herself from looking at it. She knows that if she goes on her phone and her mom finds out that she won't be allowed to go out again. She is thinking really hard about going on her phone and seeing why it is going off so much.
Im never going to text and drive again.
Cathy gets to a spot in the road where she feels that it is safe to quickly look at her phone. She looks down, and she sees that it was stupid messages from one of her friends and it wasn't important. As she is looking at her phone she swerves into the other lane and hits another car head on. She is hurt on the ground and crying.
A witness to the crash called 911 and got an ambulance to come. Cathy is hurt really bad, and she doesn't know if she will survive or not. The ambulance gets to Cathy very quick and takes her to the hospital. When Cathy gets to the hospital the doctors start to look at her. Cathy was scared to see her mom because she knew she would be angry.
The doctors said Cathy will be fine in a couple of days. After Cathy and her mom know she will be fine they talk about what caused the accident. Cathy's mom was very upset that texting and driving caused the accident. The bright side of the accident is Cathy now knows how dangerous texting and driving is. She says she will never go on her phone in her car again.
