Mr. Jones, as an alien to this city, you are privileged to be allowed a trial for your crimes. You are on trial for the sale of illegal lucrative goods, and the attempted subjugation of Smallville. How do you plead?
Then lets get on with the case. Jones, do you have anything to say in your defense?
The mediocre man says I should remain silent… but I am erratic! And I feel it is my duty to clean these sully accusations off of my reputation.
Let the prosecution and the first witness come to the stand.
I will be terse: Where were you on the night of December 2?
I was at my store, fortifying my roof for the storm.
So can you testify what you saw happening across the street, at the Gray Industries Office Building?
Yes. I was outside my store, when a comely woman came up to me and asked if the Gray Industries Building was on Bush Road. I told her no, that the Gray Industries building was across the street. Then as she walked towards the building, a man jumped out of the bushes and tackled me.
I tried to hit him with the sack of shingles I was carrying, but I missed. As he jeered at me, I was able to hit him on the jaw. As a large bruise began to proliferate across the man’s face, his jeers started to sound illegible. He ran off, but I was still tantalized to run after him.
