  • Before an Earthquake
  • It's earthquake season again! I need to get prepared just in case!
  • During an Earthquake
  • Oh no I feel shaking! I must grab the bag and go hide!
  • After an Earthquake
  • Oh no the earthquake has destroyed much of my town!
  • If you live in areas where earthquakes are common you may want to be prepared just in case one were to happen. You should store food, water, clothes, a radio, a flashlight, and a first aid kit to be prepared in case of an emergency. Have extra batteries. You should also have a plan for you and your family.
  • Before an Earthquake
  • I have put the all of my necessities in the backpack and put it in the kitchen so I can easily get it!
  • 
  • if you feel shaking then you should immediately grab your bag and go take cover as fast as you can.Avoid elevators and take stairs. If you are in a care pull over.
  • During an Earthquake
  • 
  • After the shaking stops check yourself and the people around you for injuries and treat them as soon as possible. Listen to the radio you have for emergency instructions. check if you still have food and water and expect aftershocks.
  • After an Earthquake
  • 
  • Place the bag somewhere that is easy to get to and where you can get it fast. Locate safe spots you can go during an earthquake and some dangerous ones. Learn how to shut off the power and water. Make sure your house is bolted to the foundation. Keep heavy objects off of high shelves.
  • Hide under heavy furniture  or stand under a doorway or against a wall to stay safe.Avoid windows and exterior walls. if you are outdoors move to an open area.
  • If I hide under a table or heavy furniture I will have a better chance of surviving!
  • check the chimney, foundation and road for cracks and avoid beaches because the earthquake may trigger tsunamis.
  • I will go and help people with injuries or missing family.
