Storyboard Text

  • I am part of the federal government, we have just changed our money currency to paper instead of coins. I think this is much more efficient.
  • Yes, but in doing so you have taken all of our private incomes! And some of us don't accept the new currency.
  • I am an investor, and I am so glad that the government passed the National Bank Act of 1863. The measures of the Act make banking so much safer for investors like me! For example, banks now must be inspected.
  • There are now set requirements for loans, and a system of federally chartered banks.
  • The Civil War was devastating. It affected most American Families, including mine.
  • Almost 360,000 Union Soldiers and 260,000 Confederates died. This is almost as many as all American wars combined.
  • 275,000 Union soldiers, and 225,000 Confederates were wounded. Veterans with injuries and missing body parts have become very common around here.
