Storyboard Text

  • Find somewhere quiet and tranquil to study for your "L" license.
  • Tip! Use practice tests on ICBC to know what to study!
  • Once you have studied, go to a licensing office to take your knowledge test. Make sure to bring a primary ID and secondary ID with you. You must be 16 years old to take the test.
  • After getting your "L" license, Jennifer, you may begin driving on the road with an adult supervisor.
  • One year later...
  • After a year of driving with an "L", you can now take a class 7 road test to get your "N" license. Once you pass, you can drive on your own. But you cannot drive with alcohol in your blood, or use electronic devices.
  • Two years later...
  • After driving with an "N" license for 24 consecutive months, you can apply for your full license! You will need to bring your own car and your ID's. The class 5 road test is harder than the class 7, so check ICBC's website for what to practice. Congratulations! After passing the class 5 road test you now have your own full drivers license!
  • For now, Jenn, continue taking the transit instead.
