Find somewhere quiet and tranquil to study for your "L" license.
Tip! Use practice tests on ICBC to know what to study!
Once you have studied, go to a licensing office to take your knowledge test. Make sure to bring a primary ID and secondary ID with you. You must be 16 years old to take the test.
After getting your "L" license, Jennifer, you may begin driving on the road with an adult supervisor.
One year later...
After a year of driving with an "L", you can now take a class 7 road test to get your "N" license. Once you pass, you can drive on your own. But you cannot drive with alcohol in your blood, or use electronic devices.
Two years later...
After driving with an "N" license for 24 consecutive months, you can apply for your full license! You will need to bring your own car and your ID's. The class 5 road test is harder than the class 7, so check ICBC's website for what to practice. Congratulations! After passing the class 5 road test you now have your own full drivers license!
For now, Jenn, continue taking the transit instead.
