Principle 2: Overproduction and the Struggle for Survival
Principle 3: Differential Survival and Reproduction
There is two different color snakes in the desert. One camouflages within the dirt because it is greenish-brownish. On the other hand, the other snake is red and does not camouflage within the environment.
Principle 4: Change in Gene Pool
The struggle for them is that the red snakes are spotted and killed more easily than the brownish ones. It is harder for the red ones to survive because they don't camouflage with the environment loves snakes.
Organism: Snakes Trait Selected for: The trait being selected for is the brown snake. Environment: The environment is the desert. Adaptation Type: Physical (camouflage)
The brownish snakes tend to actually survive and they reproduce. This happens because they don't get eaten by the birds.
There is now a difference in the population, there is more brown snakes than red snakes. They get to survive and reproduce unlike the red snakes. The majority of the population will be brown snakes.
