The priest asks Oedipus to save Thebes because it is suffering.
Oedipus says that no one is as sad as he is.
Creon, Oedipus's brother-in-law, returns from Delphi's Oracle and explains that Laius's murderer must be driven out of Thebes to end the plague.
Oedipus asks for someone to step forward if they know anything. Then he gets angry and puts a curse on Laius's murderer. He claims he will end the plague.
The priest asks for Apollo to save them.
