Teacher is explaining to students the group activity of Stop & Chat where students will analyze a text, stop at designated sections highlighted and share their ideas/questions.

Teacher is checking for understanding by asking a student to explain in their own words their interpretation of the instructions before they get into groups.
While each group is working on analyzing the text, the teacher is circulating the room, reminding students of expectations, and actively listening to students communicate.
After the Stop & Chat activity, groups will complete a one-pager project of their choice (collage, poster, comic strip) which students share their most important takeaways on a single piece of blank paper.
As each group member presents their project, students listening will engage in a peer feedback worksheet where they state 1 positive, 1 needs to improve and 1 question they have based on their observations, using the sentence frames.
Teacher is reflecting and evaluating the effectiveness of her lesson by gathering data from the exit slip meanwhile students is practicing a self reporting strategy.
