Harry and all of the first years finally arrive at the castle and are able to see it for the first time. All of them are anxious to explore but quickly find out that there is one very important step they have to take before fully getting the Hogwarts experience.
Not Slytherin I see, hmm...
Please please please don't let me be in Slytherin...
Professor McGonagall ushers the first years into the Great Hall where she explains the use of the sorting hat placed on the chair.
Griffindor for you Harry Potter!
The sorting hat then begins to sing the sorting song where it describes what each of the houses are known for. The brave and daring belong in Gryffindor, the loyal and patient belong in Hufflepuff, the ready minded and the learners belong in Ravenclaw and finally those who wish to make real friends and achieve goals belong in Slytherin.
The hat is finally placed on Harry after many many kids in front of him. Harry is terrified and hopes that he isn't placed in Slytherin with Malfoy.
Harry was then pleasantly surprised to be placed in Gryffindor!
After each first year was sorted, Professor Mcgonagall ushers them to their tables in the Great Hall where giant feasts await them. Professor Dumbledore makes a speech for the ceremony and then they are allowed to eat with their new housemates.
