Storyboard Text

  • 1,281 meters is about 4,203 feet (at least that what I think, I'm not very good at math)
  • The African plate is being broken up and melted, creating pressure, which makes makes the volcano chemically different (composite)
  • I hope it doesn't erupt and produce flaming rocks (pyroclastic flow)
  • Mount Vesuvius is located in Pompeii, Italy and is 1,281 meters high. Many things live around the volcano, such as wild rabbits, foxes, pinewood, etc.
  • RUN!
  • The convergent boundary (where two plates come together) is caused by convection currents in the mantle. The African and Eurasian plates and its subduction zone form Mount Vesuvius.
  • I escaped just in time, but about 1,044 people died
  • Mount Vesuvius has started to emit smoke and lava, which indicates that it's going to erupt soon. The people of Pompeii should evacuate, yet they don't.
  • Mount Vesuvius was an explosive eruption, which means that it produced a lot of pyroclastic flow and had a high silica content.
  • Mount Vesuvius produced a lot of lahars, pyroclastic flow, and falling ash, destroying the area.
