God, give me some more time, I am not quite ready yet
Yes you are, celestial light, you are my choice, my last and best choice.
2.) Marjane's Life
Me and your father made this decision
Marji, we think it is best for you to go to Austria for school.
I can't believe this! Im shocked
3.) Marjane's Life
We both laughed and laughed. He seems to be in good spirits despite losing an arm and a leg in the war.
On page 8, Marji shows that she has a great relationship with god
1.) My life
On page 148, Marji's parents sadly tell her that she is being sent to Austria for school. Marjane takes this news as sadness and shock; mostly shock.
2.) My life
Jerriney, we are moving to Indianapolis to be closer to your grandma and for school.
Marjane returns to Iran and caches up with her friend who has been injured in the Iran Wars and he is still in good spirits. He lost an arm and one of his legs.
3.) My life
We both laughed and talked about everything that is going on with our circle of friends. It was like old times again
Like Marji, my relationship with god is great. I pray every night to him and he hears my prayer and I hope to keep a relationship with god.
Oh lord, I pray to you every night for peace and love. Amen
Like Marjane, I went through moving from Natchez, Mississippi to Indianapolis, Indiana which that is so far away. I didn't adjust well at first because of how people are up here but eventually I did.
Mommy, I won't know anyone there. All of my friends are here in Natchez; my people is here.
I went back home to Mississippi for the summer in 2018 and I decided to catch up with my old friend Nikayla which she goes by Nikki for short. She was her same happy self and it really had me thinking how much I missed home. Like Marji, I missed everyone in Natchez.
