Storyboard Text

  • This is Tim the dragon. Tim likes to fly by accelerating off the ground with an applied force.
  • As Tim flies, his weight stays the same. If tim does not beat his wings any more, Tim will begin to fall towards the ground again. That is because gravity is acting to pull him downwards.
  • The gravity acting on Tim begins to pull him back towards land. His gravity (Tim's mass times 10) is counteracted slightly by air resistance, helping slow him down.
  • As Tim lands, normal force acts upon him to keep Tim from falling through the surface. Gravity is counteracted by this normal force and they are now equal, so that Tim can enjoy the view.
  • As Tim turns around, he sees his arch nemesis Caterpillar Absolem. "What are you doing here?" Tim cries out. "I am here to destroy you!" says Absolem. Tim retorts back with "Then you will die."
  • Tim uses applied force to push Absolem backwards. Absolem is trying to fight back, but there is not enough friction to stop his movement. Tim pushes him off the building with a cry of success. he can now rest knowing that his applied force was greater than Absolem's friction.
