  • Starting this course, I thought students were using technology too much and it should be limited in the classroom.
  • I used technology as a "filler" activity, such as for independent stations.
  • I would work with students without using technology, while other students were doing independent work using technology.
  • I thought allowing students to use technology during independent stations would keep them engaged, but it was not the case. Students would end up wandering away from the station or asking for help. 
  • Through weekly discussions and readings, I realized I needed to incorporate the technology. While listening to all the apps that everyone uses in their classroom, I realized I was doing way more work by not using the technology as part of my instruction.
  • Now I will use the apps I learned about through everyone's HOMAGO presentations to be a part of my lesson. Not only will this engage students, but it will also keep data for me on all students at once, versus doing assessments one at a time myself.
