Along time ago, there was a forest. Inhabited with an array of species. Everything was good until...
Suddenly, disaster strikes!!!! Due to the ever changing climate the forest has caught on fire. Damaging the homes of the animals and killing plants. Causing the animals to abandon the area, depleting the diversity of species.
Its good to be back!
The once beautiful and diverse forest is now soil and rocks. All species have fled, their homes gone and the food and plants they once foraged for burnt to the ground.
Years pass and the forest starts to slowly regenerate into secondary growth. Trees start to grow where they once stood; grass, flowers and shrubs takes place of the soil and rocks that were left from the fire.
After 30 years has past, the variety of species that used to inhabit the land migrate back. This recolonisation will likely contribute to the diversity and abundance of food within the area that the species have returned to.
