  • Good Evening.
  • The Bastille was a symbol of Absolute Monarchy, the Ancient Regime and oppression. People stormed the Bastille because they feared the King would get rid of the National Assembly.
  • The revolution was very significant. The slaves in Haiti heard of the revolution in France and in return lead a slave revolt, which was one of the most successful revolts in history.
  • French society changed a lot after the French Revolution. The French government changed to a democracy, people lived more peacefully, and everyone, except women and slaves, were equals.
