The stamp act was passed down by parliament in 1765. It made American colonist pay taxes for documents.
Is that were the meaning "No taxation without representation" came from?
Everything to do with papers and that is printed had to do be taxed. Although it did do very little n affection to colonist, this is the stamp act. People also started protesting and wanted to be represented.
