  • SCENARIO 3: During "reading time" we practice reading emergent reader books together. I read each page once and the students follow with their fingers. Then we read each page together.
  • This activity is a test not only of their reading and reading comprehension skills but also of their ability to follow directions and self-regulate their pace.  
  • I see that a group of students are following directions quickly. They are underlining the words as we read them, they are sitting nicely with their legs crossed and they are patiently waiting for me to give directions to turn the page. 
  • "Wow I really like how Kelly, Rita and Andre are sitting nicely and following with their pencils"
