  • On September 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland with his blitzkrieg breaking his promises made at tge Munich Conference. France and Britain could do nothing to hekp beyond declaring war, initiating the second Wolrd War.
  • Battle of Stalingrad
  • Surrender Germany!
  • After Germany's successful six week capture of France, Hitler planned "Operation Sea Lion" on Britain, bombing their city, London, for 57 days straight. Contrary to his hopes, Hitler's forces could not gain superiority or destroy the moral of the British; therefore, his plan was a total bust. Due to this, it led Hitler to decide to turn against the Soviet Union breaking the Nazi-Soviet Pact. This will encourage Stalin to ally alongside the Allies to save his country. 
  • D-Day

  • During the war, the U.S. claimed neutrality to stay out in any foreign affairs but they issued the Lend-Lease Act to support Britain during the war. The U.S. also decided to end sales of war equipment. Japan saw the U.S as a threat. On December 7, 1941, Japanese air forces bombed Pearl Harbor killing many U.S citizens and lunged the U.S into the war.

  • Between 1941-1942, the Allied forces were facing many victories after going total war such as the Battle of Stalingrad. The Battle of Stalingrad proved to be a major turning point during WWII. As one of the most bloodiest battles in history, the Russians were able to completely annihilate the Germans. As a result of the war, Hitler lost trust in generals and Stalin gains confidence. This helped lead to Allied forces advance towards the offensive and weaken Germany for the D-Day assault. 
  • On June 6, 1944, the Allies initiated their invasion of France breaking through German forces and towards Paris. With more forces coming from Italy and Soviet troops from Russia, Germans were surrounded and retreated. Within two years, Germany's militarily and economy crumbled ending Hitler's reign in Europe.
  • During the war, many scientists in the U.S. were working on a deadly weapon that was the answer to end the war in what they called the Manhattan Project. In August of 1945, the U.S. issued the bombing over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, causing Japan to surrender and bring about an end to the war.
