This is my tech report remix for WRI 227. I am portraying a patient audience with my findings of my tech report.
Hello Mr. Smith! I understand that you were referred here from your primary care physicians. What can we do for you?
I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease and my physician said that I may need treatment for the plaque in my arteries.
What are my options?
Due to your age and your previous heart attack history, I believe there are two treatments options. We need to run more tests to decide what will be best. However, both of these options requires surgery.
Oh goodness Im going to be honest with you Dr, that scares me. I am going to need to talk to my wife about this.
No problem Mr. Smith, we can go through the procedures and ease any fears that you might have!
I know that surgery can be scary, but let us visualize what it will be like.
With one of the treatments, you will be spending less time in the operating room, but your fears are reasonable. Once the surgery is complete you will spend some time in the hospital and then you should be feeling better
There is extensive research going on currently for treating coronary artery disease. Every year we are becoming more advanced within treatment options. You have nothing to worry about Mr. Smith. You're in good hands.
I'm feeling a little better now thank you Dr.
It was my pleasure! If you have any other questions please call.
I appreciate you walking through my options with me. I look forward to talking with you at my follow-upappointment
